Meet Your Baldwin Park Elementary PTA

​Our PTA is a team of parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members working together to make Baldwin Park Elementary an even better place for every Bobcat. From supporting our teachers and staff to creating memorable events, strengthening school spirit, and building connections among our families, everything we do is centered around our BPE community.

We’re proud to serve our school, support our students, and help every Bobcat shine!

PTA President

Amy Zolessi

Amy Zolessi brings a true educator’s heart to her role as BPES PTA President. A former early childhood educator with 14 years in the classroom, Amy now works as a Certified Instructor with Conscious Discipline, helping educators, schools, and families create supportive environments where children can thrive. She is also the proud mom of three sons and one daughter, giving her plenty of firsthand experience with the joys (and adventures!) of raising kids. Amy has a special place in her heart for teachers and is passionate about supporting the incredible educators, students, and families who make BPES such a special community.

President of Operations

Maria Medina

Maria Medina brings years of BPES experience and a deep love for the Bobcat community to her role as PTA President of Operations. An Orlando resident since 2013 and proud mom of three, Maria has had all three of her children come through the BPE family, with her youngest now in 2nd grade. She has served in a variety of PTA roles over the years and loves giving back to the school, teachers, and community that have meant so much to her family. Maria especially enjoys supporting favorite Bobcat traditions, including Shindig’s Gifts from the Heart and the Scholastic Book Fair!

Membership

Jenny Rama

Jenny Rama serves as BPES PTA Membership Chair and is the proud mom of 4th grader Vincent. For more than 20 years, she has worked in the nonprofit field, focusing on prevention services and supporting at-risk youth and families. That passion for helping kids thrive and building strong communities carries right into her involvement at BPES. Jenny loves being part of a school community that brings families, teachers, and staff together and is excited to help more BPES families connect through the PTA.

Events

Ruhi Micunek

Ruhi Micunek brings her creativity and love of bringing people together to her role with BPES PTA Events. A speech-language pathologist specializing in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders, Ruhi is passionate about helping others and creating supportive, positive experiences. She is also a devoted wife and mom to a BPES student, with family at the heart of everything she does. Ruhi is excited to help create fun, memorable events that bring BPES students, families, teachers, and staff together and make our school community even stronger.

Communications

Stacy Gerke

Stacy Gerke brings her love of communication, creativity, and community to her role leading Communications for the BPES PTA. An experienced marketing professional and educator, Stacy currently serves as a Course Director at Full Sail University, where her work brings together education, business, technology, and the gaming industry. She is the proud mom of 3rd grader Olivia and has a full house at home with two dogs, Po and Sophie, and a cat named Mew. Stacy is excited to put her communications experience to work keeping BPES families connected, informed, and engaged with all the great things happening in our school community.

Baldwin Cares

Julie Perkinson

Julie Perkinson brings her caring spirit and love for the BPES community to her role with Baldwin Cares. A wife and mom of two, Julie understands how important it is for families to feel supported and connected to their school community. Through Baldwin Cares, she is passionate about helping BPES families when they need a little extra support and making sure our community continues to look out for one another. Julie loves being part of what makes BPES more than just a school, but a community that truly cares.

Secretary

Theresa Sands

Theresa Sands brings her organization, enthusiasm, and love for the BPES community to her role as PTA Secretary. A proud BPES mom, Theresa and her husband have two daughters at Baldwin Park Elementary, one in kindergarten and one in 4th grade. She loves being part of a school community where families, teachers, and staff work together to make a positive difference for students. Theresa is excited to help keep the PTA organized, connected, and moving forward throughout the year.

Treasurer

Briannie Burlacu

Briannie Burlacu brings her commitment to community and supporting our students to her role as BPES PTA Treasurer. What she loves most about Baldwin Park Elementary is the strong connection among teachers, staff, parents, and families who work together to create meaningful experiences for our children. Through the PTA, Briannie enjoys helping support our teachers, bring families together, and make a positive difference in the school experience for every Bobcat. She is grateful to play a part in keeping our BPES community strong and connected.

Fundraising

Marilyn Burton

Marilyn Burton brings her energy and enthusiasm for supporting BPES to her role leading PTA Fundraising. A proud wife and mom of two girls, Marilyn’s family also includes two four-legged members who help keep life busy and fun. She loves being part of a community that comes together to create special opportunities and experiences for our students. Through fundraising, Marilyn is excited to help turn the generosity and support of BPES families into programs, events, and resources that make a difference for our Bobcats.

Member at Large

Holly Gies

Holly Gies brings plenty of school spirit and a busy-mom perspective to her role as BPES PTA Member at Large. A mom of four, she has three children at Glenridge Middle School and one currently at Baldwin Park Elementary. Holly loves being involved in the PTA and finding ways to support students, teachers, and families wherever she can. She especially enjoys helping create fun experiences that bring people together and strengthen the sense of community that makes BPES such a special place.

Past President

Betsey West

Betsey West continues to share her experience and love for the BPES community as PTA Past President. A proud mom of a 3rd grader, Betsey first became involved with the PTA because she wanted to help make BPES feel like home for everyone, especially our students. She is grateful for the many parents she has had the opportunity to work alongside and deeply appreciates the administrators, staff, and teachers who give so much to our Bobcats every day. Betsey is proud to continue supporting the PTA and the welcoming, connected school community it helps create.
